Elise Twiggs - Founder/Senior Educator
At the helm of the Yattalunga team is our founder Elise Twiggs, a dedicated recreational rider with a passion for equine training, rehabilitation and dressage. Elise started riding at an early age, gaining valuable experience working with troubled horses given to her family as giveaways. Largely self-taught, Elise developed her riding skills through a combination of practice and countless hours studying horsemanship articles and videos.
In recent years, Elise has focused on more formal skill development in dressage, along with physical and mental rehabilitation of neglected and abused horses. Often riding tackless or semi-tackless growing up, she still prefers a minimalist approach to riding and training. She has also developed a strong interest in Masterton-style body work.
Elise is dedicated to providing exceptional client experiences and making authentic horse-based activities accessible to a wide range of people. Her main passion however is her family - her two daughters, Bailee and Harper, along with husband Chris.
Carmen Brown - Marketing & Events Manager
Working alongside her younger sister Elise, Carmen brings a wide range of skills and experience to the Yattalunga team. A rural journalist by trade, Carmen has extensive experience covering agricultural industry issues across the Northern Territory, Queensland and South Australia, along with a decade of corporate communications and administration experience. Like her sister, Carmen grew up riding horses, including many with behavioural issues. She currently works between Yattalunga and her home in regional New South Wales, where she also runs a mechanical business with her partner Dylan, and is president of her local business chamber.
